Pile burning planned for Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM, B.C. — The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is alerting residents of Salmon Arm about a planned pile-burning project on the horizon.

BCWS says the burning at the Rappel Base within city limits could begin as soon as this Friday (Oct. 2), depending on weather and site conditions.

Crews hope to burn about 10 piles before the arrival of winter, with the intended impact being a reduction of wildfire hazards and fuel accumulation.
