Classic ‘9 To 5’ Returns To Theaters To Honor Dolly Parton’s Legacy

Walt Disney is bringing the beloved 1980 workplace comedy 9 to 5 back to theaters October 9–15, following the death of star Dolly Parton last month at age 80. A newly restored version from 20th Century Studios, featuring Parton alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, will screen nationwide. Net proceeds from every U.S. ticket sold will benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the singer’s literacy-focused book-gifting charity. Founded in 1995, the program has distributed over 300 million free books to children across North America, the UK, Australia, and Ireland. The re-release was announced on the inaugural Give Like Dolly Day, held September 25th.
