Work begins on new Logan Lake campground

LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — Work has begun on the District of Logan Lake’s Lakers Field Campground, near the baseball fields and recreation area.

Logan Lake officials said the campground is expected to have up to 37 dry RV campsites, with completion scheduled by the end of October 2026.

The district said Lakers Field Campground will give visitors easy access to baseball tournaments, outdoor recreation, ATV camping and other community events.

It adds that the the additional camping capacity could also meet some accommodation needs emerging alongside the Mine Life Extension project at Highland Valley Copper Mine.

“The District is working with Highland Valley Copper (HVC) to identify and help mitigate the project’s impacts on Logan Lake, including increased demand for temporary accommodation,” said Logan Lake.

Lake’s Lakers Field Campground, according to the district, will help to meet the demand while adding visitor capacity.

“Logan Lake has so much to offer people who come here to work, play and explore,” said Mayor Robin Smith.

“Lakers Field Campground will help us welcome more visitors, support local events and respond to changing accommodation needs while building on what makes our community special.”

The new facility is being developed as a dry campground, meaning that campsites will not have individual water, sewer or electrical hookups.

The plan also includes a 10-campsite expansion of the Logan Lake Municipal Campground by up to 10 sites, which is expected to be completed later this year.

Construction timelines are not set in stone, as work will depend on site conditions.
