Two homes destroyed by Boston Bar fire; homeowner cooperating with RCMP investigation

BOSTON BAR, B.C. – Police in Boston Bar are investigating a residential fire that destroyed two homes in the community early Tuesday (Sept. 22) morning, and they say criminality is not believed to be a factor.

Cpl. Carmen Kiener of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment, of which the Boston Bar RCMP is a part of, said police were notified about a structure fire on Old Boston Bar Road around 1:51 a.m. that morning. By the time officers arrived, Kiener said the fire had grown significantly and spread to a neighbouring home.

“Occupants of both residences were safely evacuated, and police conducted additional evacuations of nearby homes as a precaution,” Kiener said. “Despite the efforts of emergency responders, both residences were destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.”
