Organizers eyeing ‘merry and bright’ Kamloops Santa Claus parade Nov. 22

“There’s a lot of creativity that goes into every float and every detail, and we’re challenging everyone to bring their brightest ideas. If you’ve ever wanted to see downtown Kamloops completely lit up with Christmas lights, this is the year to come downtown and see it for yourself.”

The parade will kick off at 4:00 p.m., and it will travel north from Second Avenue and St. Paul Street to Victoria Street before heading east towards Sixth Avenue. It will also be livestreamed online on the Downtown Kamloops’ Facebook Page and YouTube channel.

The day’s festivities are set to get underway at 2:00 p.m. with a free screening of A Christmas Story at the Paramount Theatre. Seating is limited, and tickets are available now through the Kamloops Film Society’s website.

The Wake Up Santa event will be held at 3:40 p.m. at Fourth and St. Paul St., across from Stride Spin.

“We want to make the Downtown Kamloops Santa Claus Parade the brightest Santa Claus Parade in Canada,” Eaket added. “There is something really special about standing on Victoria Street with thousands of people around you, watching the lights come down the street and knowing that the holiday season has officially arrived. This year, we’re leaning all the way into that feeling.”
