Kamloops’ Eighth Street bridge to close for emergency expansion joint repairs

KAMLOOPS — The Eighth Street bridge in Kamloops will be down to one lane this weekend while crews complete emergency expansion joint repairs.

The City of Kamloops said crews will be working on the bridge between Ord Road and Halston Avenue on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 26 and 27). Work is set to occur from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on both days, with crews aiming to complete one lane each night, before shifting to the other lane the following evening.

“To accommodate the work, southbound traffic will be reduced to single-lane alternating,” the city said in a post on social media. “Please slow down, follow posted signs and traffic control personnel, and use caution when travelling through the area.”
