The singer announced the news across her social media accounts, writing: “I’ve been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single ‘Patient Zero’ will be out on September 25.” Swift’s website, which updated from sparkly orange to dark gray, now features three CD single versions of the track, each with a different cover of Swift dressed in black. The song is linked to her most recent album, The Life of a Showgirl, though it has not been officially labeled a bonus track. “Patient Zero” marks Swift’s second new release of 2026, following “I Knew It, I Knew You” from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack in June.
