‘A long, long time coming’: Mother of Kamloops mistaken-identity murder victim relieved at charge approval
KAMLOOPS — For seven years and eight months, Marie Nobles waited to learn who police believed killed her son. That wait reached a major turning point on Saturday when RCMP announced Hugh Alexander McIntosh, 58, and Brandon Dale Fiddick, 34, have been charged in connection with Rex Gill’s death.
“It’s been a long, long time coming, but [law enforcement] kept promising me it would come and they finally came through on their promise… it came,” Nobles told CFJC Today, adding after almost eight years, this was a big step.
Nobles said the charges are only the first steps in the process, but says having two names has now given the family an outlet for the years of uncertainty.
