35 arrested, dozens of weapons seized in Kamloops RCMP organized crime blitz

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops RCMP detachment’s Proactive Enforcement Team (KPET) has arrested 35 people and seized 32 weapons, along with illicit drugs, cash and a stolen vehicle in a crackdown on organized crime activity.

From Sept. 3 to 5, KPET coordinated a three-day deployment meant to disrupt suspected organized crime, gang activity, drug trafficking and prolific offenders going on in Kamloops.

Police officials said officers conducted proactive patrols, compliance checks and vehicle stops in targeted areas identified through investigations and intelligence.

The operations resulted in 35 arrests and 24 investigative files throughout Kamloops and Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc.
