Kamloops Arts Council gearing up for two-day Children’s Art Festival

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Arts Council is gearing up for two days of vibrant family fun with the annual Children’s Arts Festival to begin Friday (Sept. 25).

The event features art-making stations, workshops, live performances, storytelling, and music.

“These activities aim to spark joy and foster a love of the arts in our youngest community members,” said the Kamloops Arts Council.

“Attendees benefit from a joyful, culturally rich experience! Continued support for this annual event provides a fun, educational outlet for families and boosts business traffic and community well-being.”

Day one of the festivities will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday at Kamloops Art Party, 177 Tranquille Road #8.

“The Kamloops Art Party will be hosting a workshop from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The workshop is ‘Carnival Cats & Cotton Candy – Mask Making Workshop!’ Young artists will create their very own carnival-inspired cat mask, bringing it to life with playful details and plenty of imagination,” said the Kamloops Art Council.

“And because no carnival celebration is complete without a sweet treat, every registered participant will receive FREE cotton candy!”

Day two will go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverside Park on Saturday (Sept. 26).

“The Children’s Art Festival is a two-day educational festival for children and families, coinciding with the start of the school year. This annual event brings together artists, performers, and local organizations, providing a full day of interactive arts experiences specially curated for children and their families,” said the Kamloops Art Council.

“We center our festival around a new theme every year, and love to see our attendees letting their creativity soar!”
