Macklemore Donates $1 Million Tour Salary To Palestinian Aid

Macklemore has announced he will donate his entire $1 million in net earnings from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour to six Palestinian aid organizations. The rapper was dropped from the tour after delivering a pro-Palestinian speech at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft admitted pressuring stadium owners to bar him from performing. However, Kraft’s representatives declined to comment on Macklemore’s public invitation to him to match the donation. Benefiting organizations include the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, UNRWA USA, and Gaza Soup Kitchen. “Palestinian lives are worth protecting,” Macklemore wrote. “A Palestinian life is no less valuable than any other life on this earth.” All remaining Loop Tour supporting acts — Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, and Beoga — also subsequently withdrew in solidarity.
