Diddy’s Attorneys Withdraw Over Unpaid Fees, He Says They Overcharged Him

Sean “Diddy” Combs has switched legal representation in his defamation lawsuit, claiming his former attorneys were overcharging him. “I won’t let anyone take advantage of me by overcharging me and running up bills that were never approved,” Diddy said in a statement. His former attorneys at Sher Tremonte filed to withdraw, alleging Combs failed to pay fees for nearly six months and was unresponsive for over four months. Diddy sued Courtney Burgess, Ariel Mitchell, and Nexstar Media in January 2025, claiming false stories aired on NewsNation. Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix after being convicted in May 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He maintains his innocence.
