Real estate agent Rainville eyes council seat with focus toward mental health and development

KAMLOOPS — North Shore real estate agent Kadin Rainville is putting his name forward for one of eight spots on Kamloops city council this October.

Rainville spoke about two key pillars of his campaign, starting with the need for sustainable growth in the city, with eyes toward the need for affordable housing and rentals, and building through infill development.

“The stretch on infrastructure right now is immense. Where do we get the funding to upgrade infrastructure? The solution to that is infill,” said Rainville. “Kelowna went through this issue years ago when they had the urban sprawl going on, and they ran into major funding issues in trying to replace their infrastructure. We really do need to focus on that infill right now. That is going to be the only way we can help even come close to keeping costs down, while also being able to create housing and affordability within our community:”
