The TRU WolfPack and Kamloops United graduate toiled for Atlética de Avanca in 2024-2025, helping the Portuguese fifth-division club avoid relegation. 

“We stayed in the league, it was good and then there were some financial problems,” Rinaldi said. “The owners left and so they couldn’t afford to keep many players around, so I had to find a new situation.” 

After a brief stint with São Roque, Rinaldi joined Vista Alegre for the winter portion of the 2025-2026 season and re-signed with the club for 2026-2027.  

“You have to start over again, but in general it’s been good,” Rinaldi said. “It’s taken time to get into the team, but now I’m comfortable. I’ve got my place in the team and the coach and I have built a good relationship, so yeah, it’s a good setup, for sure.”  

The league winner will earn promotion.  

“Last season, we finished really well,” Rinaldi said. “We had the highest finish in this club’s history, actually. We’re looking to build on that. There was some turnover over the summer, but we have a good young squad this year, a passionate fan base and good coaching staff, so it’s an exciting project for this year, for sure.”  

Vista Alegre club headquarters are in Ílhavo, south of Aveiro in the west-central coastal region of Portugal.  

“I don’t even know how to explain it,” Rinaldi said. “It’s a little parish in a town, basically. It’s a good club and they have passionate fans, people for who it’s the pride of their little town.”
