Blazers release 2026-27 promotional schedule; Teddy Bear Toss game set for Dec. 4

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have released their promotional schedule for the first half of the 2026-27 WHL season, and you’ll want to have your teddy bears bagged and ready for early December.

The annual Teddy Bear Toss game will be played on Friday, Dec. 4, when the Penticton Vees stop by Sandman Centre. It’s the second season in a row where the Blazers will host Penticton in the annual Teddy Bear Toss game, and they’ll hope for a better showing than last December’s 7-2 loss to the Vees.

It rained 2,065 bears when defenceman Kayd Ruedig scored the Blazers’ first goal in that game last season.

The Blazers’ home opener is this Saturday (Sept. 19) against the Victoria Royals. Also in 2026, they’ll host Kamloops Minor Hockey Night on Friday, Oct. 23 against the Vancouver Giants, Military Appreciation Night on Wednesday, Nov. 6 against the Seattle Thunderbirds and First Responders Night on Friday, Nov. 28 against the Regina Pats.

The Blazers will host another Kamloops Minor Hockey Night on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2027 against the Vancouver Giants and their annual Family Day game on Monday, Feb. 15 against Seattle.

Kids Nights will return to Sandman Centre on Oct. 3, Oct. 9 and Oct. 12, where children aged 12 and under get a free ticket with the purchase of an adult or senior ticket.

Season-ticket holders can also bring a friend to the rink on Bring a Buddy Night on Wednesday, Oct. 7, while Thompson Rivers University students, staff and alumni can also access discounted tickets with the return of WolfPack Wednesdays.

Also starting Oct. 7, the Blazers say fans who buy tickets to one of nine Wednesday home games can – if the Blazers win – use that ticket to buy a ticket to the following Wednesday home game for $15 plus fees.

“Being a Blazer means being part of Kamloops,” Blazers president Norm Daley said in a statement. “We want our players to experience the community, and we also want the community to experience its team.”
