Speed Watch volunteers converge near Snine Elementary to remind drivers to slow down
KAMLOOPS — There’s a new school speed zone in effect this year in the City of Kamloops and drivers heading through the Pineview Valley neighbourhood were given a pointed reminder of that Monday (Sept. 14) morning.
Kamloops RCMP officers and crime prevention volunteers were out in full force on Copperhead Drive to remind drivers to slow down as school zones speed limits are back in effect.
“[Our Speed Watch team] can provide real time feedback to drivers just as that automatic reminder to say, ‘Hey, this is your speed. Make sure you’re slowing down in this new school zone,'” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier said.
