Wolfpack women remain undefeated, men fall versus UFV

FRASER VALLEY — A strong defensive effort has the TRU WolfPack women’s soccer team still undefeated on the season following a 0-0 draw versus the Fraser Valley Cascades on Saturday. 

Floor Ursem made seven stops for her third shutout of the season, and second of the weekend. 

With two wins and two draws to open the campaign, it’s the first time in program history the women have been undefeated after four Canada West games. 

The Pack will have a bye next weekend before finally returning home on September 25 for their home opener. 

The Men’s team scored first against the Cascades but ultimately fell 3-1.

Lachlan Will opened the scoring with his first of the year, but UFV found three unanswered to secure the home victory. 

The loss moves TRU to 4-2 on the campaign, tied with UVIC for second place in the Pacific Division. 

The men will also be on a bye week ahead of trip to the prairies to face Mount Royal and Saskatchewan.
