WolfPack men’s soccer team shutout 4-0 in Victoria, women earn scoreless draw

“At the end of the day that’s a good team and a good battle, we will have to deal with some adversity now. We’ve got a good squad too and I know the team is going to rebound and be ready to go for tomorrow.”

The WolfPack men’s soccer team now has four wins, one loss and zero draws this season. TRU is second in the Canada West Pacific Conference standings, trailing the 5-0 University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds.

On the women’s side, the WolfPack remain unbeaten in 2026 after earning a 0-0 draw with UVic. Goalkeeper Floor Ursem made six saves for the clean sheet.

“We were probably fortunate that halftime came when it did because I thought we were stretched a little bit,” Mark Pennington, WolfPack women’s head coach states. “The amount of travel that we’ve gone through, playing against a rested team that had a bye last week while we were on the bus to Prince George and now to Victoria, I couldn’t be more proud.

“We are super proud and feel a little unfortunate that we couldn’t win it right at the end, but the commitment from the players was top notch, I couldn’t ask for more. They just kept digging and grinding so we are all super happy to still be undefeated.”

The WolfPack women’s soccer team’s record improves to two wins, zero losses and one draw in 2026. TRU is second in the Canada West Pacific Conference standings, trailing the 3-0 UBC Thunderbirds.

It’s the first in Canada West program history that the WolfPack are unbeaten through their first three matches.

Both WolfPack soccer teams are in Abbotsford Saturday (Sept. 12) to take on the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades. The women kickoff at 5:30 p.m. while the men follow suit at 7:45 p.m.
