As candidate lists are finalized, new candidates for Kamloops mayor emerge
KAMLOOPS — The field is being finalized and there will be a six-person race for mayor of Kamloops next month.
Candidates had until the end of the day Friday (Sept. 11) to submit applications to run for elected municipal office in B.C.
In Kamloops, incumbent mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson will be back on the ballot, facing councillor Mike O’Reilly and former councillors Nelly Dever and Ray Dhaliwal. They will be joined by design contractor Ivory Winston and social worker Kris Lloyd-Middleton – late entries into the race whose candidacies were only made public after the 4:00 p.m. submission deadline.
Winston owns PROCAD Designs, specializing in 3D design plans for residential homes. Lloyd-Middleton is an addictions counsellor and founder of Same Sky Collective on Tranquille Road.
