Isenor set to re-join WCT, form all-female leadership team

Isenor joins Artistic Director Kelli Fox and board president Chrystie Stewart, forming the first all-female leadership team in the theatre company’s 51-year history.

“It’s really special to have an all-female leadership team. I’ve worked with some amazing female leaders in the arts in my career,” added Isenor. “And I know Kelli and I are really excited about working together and to have that all-female leadership team at WCT for the first time in its history means a lot.”

While Fox joined WCT last year. This is her first full year truly at the helm and will include her Sagebrush Theatre directorial debut with ‘Little Shop of Horrors’.

“I can’t wait to just get in the room,” said Fox. “I was saying to the company this morning, normally at this time I would be beside myself with nerves and anxiety. I guess the great thing about being the artistic director and having so much going on this summer (is) I haven’t had time to get nervous about that part.”

Fox says she is quickly recognizing the true artistic heart of the community.

“I don’t know how many know a city of 100,000 people doesn’t normally support a fully-professional theatre company, a full symphony orchestra, an art gallery and art house movie theatre, plus all the other parts of the arts ecosystem in this town. It’s really exciting,” added Fox, who said Kamloops should brag more about it’s arts scene.

Isenor will officially take up her new post in November, highlighting the catchup work ahead of herself.

“Definitely, stability is a focus. I’m born and raised in Kamloops. This is my home. This is a city I love and a company I love. I’m so excited to be here and stability for WCT is a really big focus for both myself and Kelli,” said Isenor.
