Netflix greenlit a new series of Larry McMurtry’s classic western novel Lonesome Dove. Set in the 1870s, the story follows former Texas Rangers Gus McCrae and Woodrow Call on a cattle drive from Texas to Montana “in pursuit of a dream that they have perhaps already outlived.” The 1989 CBS miniseries with Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones won multiple Emmys. Paramount Pictures is developing a follow-up to its 2003 heist hit The Italian Job, with director Paul Feig in early talks to helm the project. The studio is currently searching for a writer. F. Netflix has acquired Understudy, a five-page short story by sci-fi author Nicholas Binge, for $1 million. The thriller centers on an actor hired for a mysterious role in South Korea who discovers he’s entangled in a deadly conspiracy. Steven Yeun and filmmaking duo Lord Miller (Spider-Noir) will executive produce and likely direct the pilot. Binge will write the adaptation. Story URL


Wicked: Part One is hitting concert halls worldwide, with a full symphony orchestra performing the score live alongside the movie. Kim Zolciak’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., is fighting to have his sexual assault case moved to juvenile court. His attorney filed the motion after a Georgia grand jury indicted KJ on seven felony charges, including aggravated child molestation and sodomy.
