However, an evacuation alert remains in effect for 142 addressed properties in Electoral Areas “E” (Bonaparte Plateau) and “I” (Blue Sky Country) due to the Pear Lake wildfire, and five properties in Electoral Area E due to the French Bar Creek wildfire. 

The TNRD says the evacuation alert is in place to prepare residents to evacuate their property should it be necessary. While residents will be given as much notice as possible prior to an evacuation order, the TNRD says they may need to leave very quickly due to changing conditions. 

The Cariboo Regional District lifted its final evacuation alert area in response to the 61,786-hectare French Bar Creek wildfire on Thursday. 

The Pear Lake wildfire is measured at around 166,131.9 hectares. While it was declassified as a wildfire of note on Thursday, Whispering Pines/Clinton Indian Band and Stswecem’c Xget’tem First Nation still have evacuation orders in place. 

Elsewhere, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District downgraded its evacuation order area in response to the Pear Lake wildfire to an evacuation alert on Thursday.
