Man reportedly threatens driver with machete, fights with police before arrest in the Shuswap

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A 34-year-old man in the Shuswap was arrested after reportedly threatening a driver with a machete and fighting with police. 

At around 8:10 a.m. on Aug. 28, Salmon Arm RCMP say officers were told of a road rage incident on the Trans-Canada Highway in Tappen. 

According to the report, a man briefly left his red Honda Civic and held a machete in a threatening manner towards another driver before continuing eastbound on the highway. 

RCMP say the red Civic fled after they attempted to stop it. Officers from the Sicamous detachment then set up a roadblock at the east end of the R.W. Bruhn Bridge.
