Marathon public hearing sees Sahali development proposal forwarded to ALC without council support
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops will forward an application to remove nearly 30 hectares of land in Upper Sahali from the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) to the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) – but it has not voiced support.
City councillors voted 7-1 after a public hearing that went on for more than four hours Tuesday (Sept. 1) night.
The property in question – at 2105 Tremerton Drive – is near Albert McGowan Park and professional reports provided by the property owner deemed the site as “not productive agricultural land” with “limited” irrigation water availability.
