Kamloops council approves permit for new 215-room Aberdeen hotel

KAMLOOPS — The third and final phase of a hotel project in Aberdeen has been given the green light. 

During Tuesday’s (Sept. 1) regular meeting, Kamloops council approved a development permit for a new 215-room Marriott Hotel at 1475 Hugh Allan Dr. 

The developer, JM Architecture, submitted a rezoning application to increase the height of the hotel building from four storeys to six. 

The first phase of the hotel project was the five-storey, 114-room Fairfield Inn & Suites building that has been operating since 2015. The second phase, a 90-room independent hotel, is currently under construction.
