Nearly 170 Jewish artists, writers, and thinkers have signed an open letter defending actor Mark Ruffalo against antisemitism accusations made by a Paramount spokesperson after Ruffalo highlighted the Ellison family’s ties to Israel and its military. Signatories include filmmaker Joel Coen, actor Hannah Einbinder, writer Naomi Klein, and actor Debra Winger. The letter, titled “Enough!”, calls the accusations a “dangerous weaponization” of antisemitism charges. It also condemns the proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger, arguing it would consolidate media control and silence critics. “Pointing out the crucial connections between what is happening in Gaza and what is happening in Hollywood is the exact opposite of antisemitism,” the letter states. The signatories say they “stand proudly with Mark Ruffalo.”
