WolfPack men’s soccer team shut out Cascades 1-0, win second straight to start 2026 season

“I thought we had a really good first half, UFV is another of the top teams in Canada West so for us to play the way we did in the first half was great,” John Antulov, WolfPack head coach states in a news release. “The second half I was probably not as happy with because we played a little disjointed but the one thing I did love was the defending, the fight and the battle. We knew they were going to come at us really hard and I thought defensively and our goalkeeping was again really solid today.”

The match ended chippy though. Straight red cards were issued to the WolfPack’s Lewis Crompton and Cascades’ Aidan Fitzgerald in the final moments. TRU and UFV each had two additional players issued yellow cards at the end as well. 

The WolfPack have two wins, zero losses and zero draws in two matches to start the 2026 season, good for a tie for first with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. 

TRU’s men’s soccer team is on the road for six straight matches before hosting the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on Oct. 3. Next up, though, the WolfPack are in Prince George to take on the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) Timberwolves on Friday, Sept. 4.

TRU women’s soccer team begins their season Friday, Sept. 4, in Prince George when they take on UNBC.
