Cariboo Regional District lifts evacuation alert around Big Creek Park as fire activity dampens
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has partially rescinded its evacuation alert in relation to the Bonanza Creek wildfire.
Effective 10:00 a.m. Friday (Aug. 28), the CRD says properties in the west side of its Bonanza Creek Fire Area, which includes Big Creek Provincial Park, have been given the “all clear.”
“An evacuation alert or order may need to be reissued if it is deemed necessary,” the CRD states. “Residents must be prepared if the area receives a future evacuation order or alert on short notice. Residents are advised to ensure they maintain their emergency kits.”
However, residents in properties outlined in yellow on the attached map remain under evacuation alert.
