Netflix Sets October Comedy Documentary Month, Including Norm Macdonald Film

Netflix is dedicating October to comedy with four new documentaries. Judd Apatow directs Norm: The Tale of Norm MacDonald, spotlighting the comedian’s subversive Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” tenure and storytelling legacy. Neil Berkeley and the late Bob Saget co-directed Who Is Martin Mull?, exploring Mull’s versatility across television, film, art, and music. Apatow and Berkeley also collaborate on Paralyzed by Hope: The Maria Bamford Story, highlighting her boundary-pushing standup and mental health candor. Jason Hehir directs SCTV: The Greatest Show You’ve Never Heard Of, celebrating the sketch comedy series that launched John Candy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, and others. The films roll out weekly beginning October 7th, with the Macdonald documentary airing October 16th.
