TNRD gives ‘all clear’ for 1,000+ properties impacted by Clinton-area wildfire
CLINTON, B.C. — An evacuation alert has been lifted for more than 1,000 residents who were impacted by the massive Pear Lake wildfire near the Village of Clinton, while a handful of others are now able to return home.
At 3:00 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 23), the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) gave the “all clear” status to nearly 1,243 addressed properties within the Loon Lake, 70 Mile House and South Green Lake areas, along with those near Highway 97 and south of Highway 99.
Additionally, the TNRD downgraded an evacuation order for 20 addressed properties near Kelly Lake, north of Canoe Creek and along Highway 99 and Hooke Road to an evacuation alert.
