Kamloops RCMP, BC Coroners investigating after teenager killed in e-scooter accident
KAMLOOPS — Police in Kamloops and the BC Coroners Service are investigating after an 18-year-old teenager was killed in an e-scooter accident earlier this month.
In a statement Monday (Aug. 24), Kamloops RCMP says paramedics were called to the intersection of Battle Street and Lee Road in the city’s West End around 4:00 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 16) morning.
While its not clear what exactly happened, RCMP spokesperson Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said police were called to Royal Inland Hospital around 6:00 a.m. that day. She added the teenager suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead in hospital.
