Emergency department in 100 Mile to close for most of Monday

In a news release issued Sunday afternoon, Interior Health says all other inpatient services at 100 Mile District General Hospital will continue.

Residents in the 100 Mile area who need life-threatening emergency care, such as those with chest pains, difficulty breathing and severe bleeding, are also encouraged to call 911 for transport to their nearest available and appropriate facility. 

Anyone who is unsure whether an emergency room visit is warranted can call HealthLink BC at 911, or visit www.HealthLinkBC.ca for non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians and pharmacists 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
