Tk’emlups RCMP investigating fatal crash in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Tk’emlups RCMP is investigating a crash along Westsyde Road that claimed the life of a Kamloops woman.

Police officials said officers from the Tk’emlups and Kamloops RCMP Detachments were called out to to the scene at 7000-block of Westsyde Road shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 22).

Kamloops Fire and Rescue attended to find a vehicle that struck a tree and was fully engulfed in flames by the time emergency responders were on the scene.

“The driver, a 22-year-old Kamloops woman, did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene,” said S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.
