Transportation Safety Board to arrive in Prince George Friday to investigate plane crash

PRINCE GEORGE — The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified of an emergency landing of a Beech King Air 200 airplane and a collision with vehicles on Foothills Boulevard in Prince George. 

A team of investigators will be deployed to Prince George where they will assess the occurrence. They are expected to arrive Friday (Aug. 21) morning.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:18 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 20), with eight people on board the Beech King Air 200, that was coming to land at YXS – Prince George Airport, arriving from the Kemess Creek area.

Data from FlightRadar shows that the plane originated in Prince George and took off from YXS at approximately 11:00 a.m., flew north to the Kemess Creek area, and was returning to Prince George, then made an emergency landing on Foothills Boulevard, just north of North Nechako Road.
