100 MILE HOUSE B.C. — The emergency department at the 100 Mile District General Hospital will be closed overnight.

Interior Health says the ER will be closed for 13 hours — from 7:00 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 21) to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 22) — but all other impatient services will be available in the meantime.

During these closure, patients in the 100 Mile House area in need of emergency care will be directed to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, which is an hour-long drive away.

“People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility,” the IH statement added.
