KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) safely brought a woman to shore after she became stranded in the Thompson River near McArthur Island Wednesday morning (Aug. 19).
The 911 call came in around 10:30 A.M. courtesy of Taylor Krymusa, a bystander walking on a nearby path who witnessed the woman on a sandbar, then in shin-deep in the water.
KFR were able to launch a boat and successfully rescue the woman to shore after she was advised to remain where she was, avoiding being swept by the current.
No injuries were reported.
