Clinton Health and Wellness Centre reopening after wildfire-related closure

CLINTON, B.C. — The Clinton Health and Wellness Centre is set to reopen Wednesday (Aug. 19). 

Interior Health says the facility at 1510 Cariboo Highway will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for basic care, lab work and nursing. 

The reopening comes as health services continue to resume after an evacuation order for the Village of Clinton was downgraded to an evacuation alert on Saturday, Aug. 15. Interior Health says the Clinton Health and Wellness Centre temporarily closed on July 24 due to the massive Pear Lake wildfire nearby. 

Interior Health resumed operations in Clinton on Sunday, Aug. 16, by restoring Home Health services. 

A resiliency centre also remains open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Clinton Curling Club at 1419 Kellow Lane. Returning residents from the Village of Clinton or the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) can access the centre for supports during their re-entry and recovery process.
