SICAMOUS, B.C. — Travelers passing through Sicamous are being advised of a trio of overnight closures for the R.W. Bruhn Bridge through the end of August.

The B.C. government says the Trans-Canada Highway at R.W. Bruhn Bridge will be closed from 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Aug. 17, 24 and 31 to accommodate essential construction work.

Drivers travelling between Salmon Arm and Sicamous are asked to take Highways 97A and 97B during those hours, which the province says adds up to nearly 40 minutes to their commutes in normal conditions.

Local traffic has access to and from Old Spallumcheen Road and Old Sicamous Road at the top of each hour during the R.W. Bruhn Bridge closures.
