‘Not the first British Columbian that has had these feelings’; Milobar leaves Tory Caucus
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Centre MLA Peter Milobar has left the BC Conservative Party Caucus and effective immediately will sit as an independent in the legislature.
It’s a move that may have been brewing since the conservative leadership race, but while Milobar originally had hoped to find a road forward within the conservative caucus, he says his values no longer line up with the party.
“There really was no one defining moment, it really was accumulation and reflecting on the first couple of months here and the direction things are headed and will continue to head,” Milobar told CFJC News. “And realizing that my values weren’t aligning as nicely as I would like.”
