Power knocked out for thousands in Heffley Creek, Pinantan Lake, Rayleigh and Tk’emlups

KAMLOOPS — Thousands of properties in North Kamloops, on the Tk’emlups reserve and in the Pinantan Lake area are without power.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. Monday (Aug. 10), BC Hydro reported a pair of separate power outages, both caused by trees going down across the utility’s wires.

The first outage affects 2,027 customers north of Barnhartvale Road, east of Westsyde Road, south of Mount Lolo Road and west of Pinantan Lake Road. The second affects 1,136 customers in the Heffley Creek and Rayleigh neighbourhoods; north of Paul Lake Road and south of Clarke Road.

As of publication, no crews have been assigned to the outages.
