Northerly winds could bring temporary wildfire smoke relief to Kamloops by mid-week
KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada says Kamloops, and the Thompson region could see temporarily clearer skies beginning this week, Wednesday (August 12) after days of heavy wildfire smoke.
Operational meteorologist Morgan Shull says little change is expected to be evident on Monday and Tuesday, with the smoke potentially becoming thicker overnight as the atmosphere stabilizes.
“I do expect probably into the overnight hours, with that diurnal effect and it becoming more stable again, that it becomes smokier overnight,” Shull said. “And that’s for tonight and possibly tomorrow night as well.”
