New James Bond Actor Expected To Be Cast Before Year’s End

Producer Amy Pascal says the next James Bond actor will be announced by the end of 2025. Pascal, the former Sony Pictures chair now in charge of the franchise, told Deadline the team is being “really, really methodical” about the casting process, which officially began in May. Bond 26 is being led by Dune director Denis Villeneuve and written by Peaky Blinders creator Stephen Knight. Callum Turner and Jacob Elordi are among the rumored candidates, while Taron Egerton ruled himself out. Tom Holland is reportedly unable to pursue the role due to his Marvel contract. “Daniel Craig is a hard act to follow,” Pascal said. “It’s got to be something really different that is stirring and exciting and different.” The film marks the franchise’s return since Craig’s final appearance in 2021’s No Time To Die.
