Helicopter pilot suffers minor injuries after Tuesday morning crash near 70 Mile House

70 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A helicopter pilot was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a crash near 70 Mile House Tuesday (Aug. 4) morning.

Details remain limited, but the BC Wildfire Service confirmed to CFJC Today that the incident happened around 10:30 a.m.

“A helicopter went down over a lake, landing in the water near 70 Mile House during wildfire operations in the Big Bar wildfire complex,” Aydan Coray, a fire information officer with the BC Wildfire Service said, in an emailed statement.

Coray said the pilot was the only person on board the helicopter at the time of the incident.
