Kamloops seniors picnic returns to Riverside Park on August 28

KAMLOOPS — Seniors in Kamloops will get a chance to gather and enjoy each other’s company next month when the annual senior’s picnic takes over a portion of Riverside Park.

The event for adults aged 55 and older will be held between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28.

It’ll feature a picnic-style hot dog lunch served by the Kamloops Paddlewheelers Lions Club along with musical entertainment from the Kamloops Rube Band and Gary Mockford. There will also be gentle physical activities like chair yoga, chair Zumba and lawn games.

The city said while tables and chairs will be provided in the shade, attendees are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, hats and sunscreen.
