Guichon Creek wildfire near Logan Lake classified as ‘being held’

LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — The Guichon Creek wildfire west of Logan Lake is not expected to get any bigger as crews work to snuff out the now smouldering 145-hectare burn.

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) has classified the fire as ‘being held’ meaning they do not expect it to grow past existing containment lines.

Wildfire Service officials say crews reported no further growth over the weekend.

“No growth was observed by crews working overnight last night (August 1) into today (August 2). Fire behaviour is currently Rank 1, meaning a smoulder ground fire with white smoke and no open flame,” said the BCWS.
