UPDATE: Missing Vernon man found deceased

VERNON, B.C. — A 40-year-old man who was last seen leaving his home in Vernon on Thursday (July 30) was found deceased.

RCMP say a resident found an abandoned white pickup truck near Silverstar Road in Vernon on Monday (Aug. 3).

In an update Tuesday (Aug. 4), Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say police attended the scene and determined the truck associated to a missing person investigation. The body of the missing man was found a short distance away.

Police say no criminality is suspected, and the BC Coroners Service is also carrying out an investigation to determine the events leading up to the man’s death.
