Forest Grove residents reject $880k borrowing plan for fire hall renovations
FOREST GROVE, B.C. — Residents of Forest Grove have turned down a proposed borrowing measure to fund fire hall renovations.
The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) was proposing a $1.6-million renovation of the Forest Grove Fire Hall, partially funded by an $880,000 loan, to be repaid over 10 years.
The other 45 per cent of the project cost would be funded through the district’s community works fund.
The estimated increase to parcel taxes for users in the area would have been about $112 per year over 10 years.
