UPDATE: Interface fire near BC Wildlife Park being held at 2.55ha
KAMLOOPS — (UPDATE 8:00 p.m.): The BC Wildfire Service says the interface fire in the Campbell Creek-area, not far from the BC Wildlife Park, is being held at 2.55 hectares in size.
Planes and helicopters were dispatched shortly after 1:00 p.m. as a plume of smoke could be seen rising from as far away as the Valleyview-area.
BC Wildfire Service information officer Cali Nessman said airtankers were tasked with dropping retardant along predetermined lines in the vicinity of the fire.
