Village of Clinton ordered evacuated as Pear Lake fire grows eastward
CLINTON, B.C. — (Ed note: This story has been updated with new information here.)
Evacuation orders in the Clinton area have been expanded for the second time in a roughly 12 hour span, and this time residents of the village are also being told to leave.
“We’re putting the order in due to the changing conditions at the Pear Lake fire,” Clinton mayor Roland Stanke told CFJC Today. “Everybody was kind of watching the Fiftynine creek fire and then the Pear Lake one kind of snuck up behind us due to the terrain and the changing wind conditions.”
