Highway 3 reopens after wildfire threat but Trans-Canada remains closed near Boston Bar
HOPE, B.C. — One of two major highways connecting the B.C. Interior to the Lower Mainland has reopened with a single-lane alternating traffic, and drivers are being told to not stop in the wildfire zone.
The Crowsnest Highway (Highway 3) has reopened between Manning Park and Sunshine Valley, a little over two days after it was closed by the nearly 10 square kilometre Norwegian Creek fire, which was sparked by lighting on July 17.
✅OPEN! – #BCHwy3 has reopened between #ManningPark and #SunshineValley due to wildfire activity. Watch for single lane alternating traffic as fires continue to burn in the area. There is no stopping permitted in the fire zones.

The Trans-Canada Highway through the Fraser Canyon remains closed in the Boston Bar area due to the ongoing risk presented by the three wildfires that make up the Brunswick Complex. The highway was also closed on Tuesday by the human-caused Anderson Creek fire, south of Boston Bar.
